The Townsville McDonald’s Crocodiles are pleased to announce their 2013 Pre-Season NBL Tournament draw, which sees all eight NBL teams playing three games against different NBL opposition for the inaugural Loggins-Bruton Cup.
The tournament format will see the Crocs playing in three games, with the first tournament game being against the Sydney Kings in Penrith on the 17th of September. The final two games will see all eight teams land in Sydney and play over three days at the Northern Suburbs Indoor Sports Centre (NSISC) from Friday the 20th to Sunday the 22nd of September.
The Pre-Season cup has been named in honour of Australian Basketball Hall-of-Famers, Leroy Loggins and Cal Bruton.
In addition to the Loggins-Bruton Cup the Crocs will play another three games prior to the NBL official tip off on October 12th against the Cairns Taipans in Townsville.
Leading up to the Crocs’ official NBL pre-season commitments, the Crocodiles take on the Sydney Kings in an exhibition game in Manly on the 15th September.
"It's great to have the preseason games locked away. This will give us four weeks of training and then the opportunity to play six games over a two week period,” said Crocs coach Shawn Dennis.
“In this time we will be able to evaluate the performance of the team and then we will have just over a week to put our final preparations in place in the lead up to our first game on October 12."
After the tournament the Crocs head back to Townsville to play the Perth Wildcats at the RSL Stadium on 26th September. Three days later (September 29th) the Crocs will head to enemy territory and take on the Taipans in Cairns.
Tickets for the Crocs only pre-season home game will go on sale from August 29th and will be available by phoning 47 27 9797. General entry tickets are $15 per adult, $8 for children 4-15.
Family tickets (2 adults / 2 children) are $38. Corporate seating is $35 with Courtside seating $20.
