The Townsville Crocodiles steering committee have announced today that they are one step closer to inclusion in the 2013/14 NBL season having received documentation outlining an NBL Club participation licence contract.
The document was supported with the proposed constitution of the new independent governing entity and was forwarded to all clubs who propose to participate in the 2013/14 season.
“This is by no means the green light for us”, said steering committee member Pat Reidy. “There is still work to do and we have to ensure that everything in this agreement is acceptable to where we want to be. It is certainly an indication that we are close though.”
Reidy and his team chose to release the information of this document as a sign to supporters and media that everything is still very much alive.
“We get calls every day from people asking about the licence and we are so frustrated that we can’t give any (firm) updates”, he said. “The supporters, sponsors, media have all been so patient so we just wanted to ensure everybody that things are still moving positively.”
The document is currently with the entity’s legal team and they hope to have it ready for return to the NBL by the end of this week.
